LITTLE FORK CHURCH
SUNDAY WORSHIP AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION TIMES
8:30am Contemporary Worship 10:00am Sunday School 11:00am Traditional Worship
The contemporary service offers a different approach to worship, liturgical, yet casual. This service enjoys live congregational music with a guitar-driven, drum-machine-backed praise band. The band plays a mix of up-tempo and leveling music that compliment this less formal service and meets the needs of its members to praise God in song. Rick Furnival currently leads the band and practices are held at his house weekly. A small group of singers practice with the band lending vocal support and guidance when new or unfamiliar worship songs are introduced to the congregation. Holy Communion is celebrated at this service each Sunday.
The traditional worship service at Little Fork has its roots deeply embedded in the liturgical tradition of the Episcopal Church. Lay Readers and Acolytes assist in celebrating our worship and Holy Communion and through use of The Book of Common Prayer the congregation becomes an integral component of the prayers and responsive readings used in worship and celebration of our Lord. Familiar music from the 1989 Hymnal and Lift Every Voice and Sing is played on our antique pipe organ (circa 1840’s). A full-size modern electric keyboard helps to provide even more options for the organist and congregation. Holy Communion is celebrated at this service each Sunday.
Additionally, the church celebrates all other appropriate days of observance with pertinent services. Christian Education for both children and adults occurs after the Contemporary Service from September through May.
A sense of purpose resonates within the walls of Little Fork and within our church family when we gather. We hope to continue to glorify God in worship and build our fellowship so that we can be better ministers, disciples and evangelists.
We would love to meet and worship with you, to help you determine what God may be calling you to do, and provide the opportunity to build a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. We serve Him as we serve each other.
